We are pleased to announce three new publications: two articles that have recently been published and a book forthcoming in November.

The first article is published in BMC Medical Ethics, comes from WG3 and is authored by several EDEM members. Title: “Development and pilot validation of a European ethical framework for decision-making in dementia care” presents the development of the EDEM-framework finding that it offers a structured, exploratory and practice-oriented contribution to clinical ethics in dementia care.

The second article is published in Health Policy, comes from WG2 and is also authored by several EDEM members. Title: “Dementia care ethics, structural violence and unmet needs: A qualitative cross-country study” explores how healthcare structures create ethical barriers in dementia care across seven different countries, finding that healthcare system structures substantially shape ethical challenges in dementia care.

The book coming out at Springer in November. It is edited by Veselin L. Mitrović, Olga Riklikienė, Daniel Sperling and includes contributions from EDEM members. Title: “Advance Directives in Dementia Care: Cross-National Examinations” examines the formulation, regulation, implementation, and implications of advance directives in dementia care.
