Conference Grants 

You are able to apply for two types of Conference Grants. There are 2 available Inclusiveness Target Country Conference grant of 1200 EUR per grant and 5 available Dissemination Conference grant of 1225 EUR per grant.

Criteria for application 

  • You have to present results from CA EDEM (WG1-WG4)
  • The grant can be applied for only once
  • We urge everyone interested to apply, but in case of many high quality applications, young researchers and applications including multiple members will be prioritized.

Inclusiveness Target Country Conference grants
The ITC Conference Grant Applicant(s) are Young Researchers and Innovators affiliated in an Inclusiveness Target Country (ITC) or Near Neighbour Country.
Documentation needed for applying for the ITC Conference grant:

  1. TC Conference grant application based on the e-COST template
  2. Copy of the abstract of the accepted oral or poster presentation
  3. Acceptance letter from the conference organisers
  4. Other documents required by the Action.

Dissemination Conference grants 
Documentation needed for applying for the DC Conference grant: 

  1. Dissemination conference grant application based on the e-COST template
  2. Copy of the abstract of the accepted oral presentation
  3. Acceptance (or invitation) letter from the conference organizers
  4. Other documents required by the Action.

Applying for a conference grant

  1. Fill in all sections on the e-COST (website tab “My Grant applications” on your individual e-COST page) and upload the actual application template completed which shall be previously downloaded from the application e-COST page.
  2. The applicant will need to upload additional supporting documentation for each type of grant (details below).
  3. As soon as the Grant application is submitted, the Grant Awarding Coordinator is notified and will be able to review and approve/reject the Grant application on behalf of the MC.
  4. In case of rejection, a justification needs to be encoded. The justification will be included in the e-notification to the applicant.
  5. After the grant the template with Report should be uploaded.
  6. After Report approval the refund will be conducted.

 

Open Access Grants

You are able to apply for an Open Access Grant. There are 3 grants available for open access journals of 2000 EUR per publication.

Eligibility Criteria 
To be considered for the grant, all applications must take the following criteria into account.

  1. One grant per individual 
    Each individual is eligible to receive only one Open Access Grant, to ensure fairness in distribution of the grants.
  1. Primary author submission 
    Applications must be submitted by the primary author of the article.
  1. Documentation of plans for publishing 
    A detailed progress plan must accompany the application for the application to be assessed.
  1. No available university agreements 
    Prior to applying for the grant, applicants must have checked whether their paper can be funded through university agreements. The application is only eligible if other opportunities have been sought out.

Priorities for assessment 
The three following points will be prioritized when applications for Open Access Grants are assessed.

  1. Close alignment with core mission 
    Submitted articles must align closely with EDEM COST’s core mission.
  2. Multi-author papers 
    Articles with multiple authors will be prioritized over single-author papers, as they provide benefits to more members of the network.
  3. Papers documenting significant progress  
    Papers that can show significant progress, such as having received revisions or being near publication, will be prioritized.

Deadline
All papers receiving the grant must be published in November at the latest.

To apply for the grant, you have to send your application including all documents to the grant awarding coordinator Joanna Rymaszewska ([email protected]) and add Lucca-Mathilde Thorup Ferm ([email protected]) as CC to the mail.
